Frequently Asked Questions
What is Willow?
Willow is an AI‑powered voice dictation tool that lets you speak into any text field—Slack, Gmail, Notion, iMessage, and more—and instantly sees perfectly formatted text appear where your cursor is. It works on Mac, Windows and iPhone, supports over 100 languages, and handles background noise, whispering and fast speakers. The service claims 3× higher accuracy than built‑in dictation, removes filler words, fixes punctuation and applies context‑aware formatting in as little as 200 ms. Willow also learns your personal terminology, remembers names and abbreviations, and lets you save frequently used phrases for quick insertion. A free tier provides unlimited use of a weaker speech‑to‑text model with up to 20 Scribe transcriptions per week, while paid plans unlock the Frontier Pro model, unlimited Scribe usage, longer dictation, smart memory of your writing style, and enforced privacy features such as zero data retention, SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA compliance. All processing can run offline on your device, and no credit card is required to start. GateOnAI Score: 38/100.
