Medium
Medium is an AI-powered Writing Assistant tool — AI writing and publishing platform. Best for: Writing Assistant. Pricing: Freemium (GateOnAI Score: 48/100).
AI writing and publishing platform
Creates, edits, and publishes articles with AI assistance, letting writers generate drafts, refine tone, and suggest headings without leaving the platform. The AI engine analyzes input prompts and produces coherent paragraphs, then offers real‑time grammar checks and style tweaks. Users can toggle between formal, conversational, or technical voices, and the system highlights passive constructions for manual correction. All output lives in Medium’s native editor, preserving formatting, images, and embedded media for seamless publishing. AI suggestions include headline generation, tag recommendations, and SEO‑friendly keyword hints that align with Medium’s discovery algorithm. The platform provides a readability score and estimates reading time, helping writers balance depth and audience engagement. Drafts can be shared with collaborators for inline comments, and version history records each AI‑driven iteration. Mobile apps mirror desktop functionality, allowing on‑the‑go editing and publishing. Export options cover PDF, HTML, and plain text, facilitating cross‑posting to newsletters or other CMSs. The service targets independent writers, journalists, and marketers who need a fast publishing pipeline and audience analytics. Free users receive a limited number of AI‑generated words per month, while paid subscriptions unlock unlimited drafts, priority processing, and access to premium reading insights. Medium’s built‑in audience metrics show claps, views, and follower growth, allowing creators to gauge content performance against similar topics. Compared with WordPress.com’s block editor, Medium offers tighter AI integration but fewer customization plugins. The tiered pricing model lets casual bloggers stay on the free plan and power users scale with the paid tier.
