Minion AI
Minion AI is an AI-powered AI Agents tool — AI agent for Mac automation. Best for: AI Agents. Pricing: Freemium (GateOnAI Score: 49/100).
AI agent for Mac automation
Minion AI runs on macOS and lets users create, run, and manage automation scripts through natural language prompts. Users type or speak commands such as "move all screenshots to a folder" or "set my status to Do Not Disturb at 7 pm," and the agent translates them into AppleScript, shell, or Shortcuts actions. The tool parses intent, selects the appropriate system API, and executes the resulting code without leaving the desktop. It also offers a visual log that shows each generated command, its success status, and any error messages. Key capabilities include on-the-fly script generation, integration with macOS Shortcuts, scheduled task triggers, file-system monitoring, and context-aware app control. The script generator supports Bash, Zsh, and AppleScript, allowing power users to extend automations beyond the built-in library. A built-in scheduler lets users define recurring jobs using natural language like "every weekday at 9 am run backup." File-system monitoring watches designated folders and fires custom actions when new items appear. The agent can also pause, resume, or terminate running processes through simple prompts. Compared with generic automation tools, Minion AI adds conversational editing, so users can refine a script by saying "change the destination to Downloads." The free tier provides up to ten automation runs per month and access to the core language model. Paid upgrades raise the run limit, unlock priority processing, and add team sharing features for collaborative workflows. Ideal for Mac power users, developers who need quick prototyping of scripts, and IT administrators automating routine maintenance. The web dashboard offers export of generated scripts, version history, and API keys for embedding the agent in custom tools. Setup requires downloading a small helper app and signing in with an email address; no additional hardware is needed.
